Surrounded by sea on one side and country landscape on the other, Blue Anchor is purposefully positioned to enjoy the best Somerset can offer. Near the borders of Exmoor; gorse and heather filled moorland, birdlife, and local landmarks are all waiting to be explored. Blue Anchor itself nestles in the heart of Blue Anchor Bay, an enormous expanse of beach and seascape with only the coastline of Wales breaking the horizon on a clear day. There is a long level seafront promenade that is easily accessed from the bungalow. The West Somerset railway runs through Blue Anchor and you can easily catch a steam train to Minehead or Bishops Lydeard. The trains can also be seen from the lounge or patio. Blue Anchor has a pub, the well known Driftwood Cafe plus a cafe at the Holbourne Caravan Park
